The other week I was very lucky to be invited to Walrus in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. They were having a menu re-launch and I was delighted to have a little wander down to see what was on offer.

We began with sampling a couple of cocktails. A Blue Bulliet Smash (left) made with Bulleit Bourbon, Blackberries, Mint, Sugar and Lemon. And a classic Zombie – Santa Teresa, Goslings, Skipper, El Dorado 5yr, Velho Cachaça. Both were extremely tasty and just between us cocktail lovers, selected cocktails are 2 for £10 throughout the week. You can check all the details here.

We then ordered our food, Walrus have added quite a few new tasty bits to their menu. So we were quite spoilt for choice!

For starters we opted for the Spicy Pork and Chorizo Meatballs in a rich tomato and basil sauce. Followed by the Deep Fried Mac and Cheese balls, which were blooming delicious.

And for our main we had to try the pizzas. 15-inch bases are made on site daily, using Walrus’ closely guarded secret recipe dough. All Walrus’ pizzas come with a San Marzano tomato sauce on it’s base and creamy mozzarella cheese. We had a classic Americana and we were not disappointed. A crispy thin base and just the right amount of cheese and pepperoni.

A huge thanks you to Walrus for inviting us down to check out their brand new menu. You can book a table with them here they also have some great offers on, including 50% off food on Sundays – please check out their website for full details.
