At the moment South Manchester is absolutely buzzing with great independent restaurants, bars and cafes. I feel like sometimes we’re just too spoilt for choice! With the food and drink scene booming in places like Chorlton, West Didsbury and Altrincham, I was excited to receive an invitation from Morley’s of Hale to an exclusive blogger event with the WeBlogNorth crew. I’d never been to Hale before and was excited to see what was in store, travelling just that little bit further a field than what I would usually do. Continue reading

The Blue Pig – Manchester
A couple of weeks ago, we were invited down to much loved Northern Quarter haunt, The Blue Pig, to try out a taster menu. It had been specially put together to showcase their re-launch and brand new menu! To say I was excited was quite the understatement. So let’s get right into it. Continue reading
Walrus Manchester : Menu Re-launch
The other week I was very lucky to be invited to Walrus in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. They were having a menu re-launch and I was delighted to have a little wander down to see what was on offer. Continue reading
An Evening With Martin Miller’s Gin – Premium Gin Brand
Last month I had the pleasure of attending an evening hosted by Martin Miller’s Gin. A premium British gin brand which was created back in 1999 when the man behind the gin, Martin Miller, decided he wanted a superior gin for his gin and tonic. Continue reading
Another Heart To Feed – West Didsbury
Another Heart To Feed is the latest addition to the West Didsbury food scene. It’s a laid back, Melbourne inspired coffee shop and brunch spot. It has recently re-located from Chapel Street in Salford and can now be found on Burton Road, West Didsbury. Continue reading
Manchester Wanders 1 : John Rylands Library and Albert’s Schloss
I decided over the past couple of weeks to take my blog into a bit of a different direction this year. Don’t worry, I’ll still be featuring all the amazing restaurants, foodies markets and bars that Manchester has to offer; but I also want to share a bit more of the city. Things like art galleries, museums and general places of interest. Continue reading
Salvi’s Cucina – Manchester
I’ve had a fair share of Italian’s in my time but was more than pleasantly surprised by the suggestion of Salvi’s Cucina on John Dalton Street the other day. I genuinely felt like we had just stepped off the streets of Manchester and been transported to a secret little eaterie in Naples. Continue reading
Brunch – Tea Hive, Chorlton
It’s always a pleasure to pop into Chorlton on a bright Sunday morning and spend a few lazy hours sat outside Tea Hive watching the world go by. Continue reading
Aldi Wagyu Beef Steak – Review
I’d read a lot of articles this week about Aldi selling Wagyu beef, the most expensive steak in the world, I’m lead to believe, for the bargain price of £7.29! I only live 2 minutes away from an Aldi, and knowing that I would never be able to afford a Wagyu beef steak in a restaurant (£90 for the same size steak in upmarket places), I decided to have a go at cooking some myself. Continue reading
Chalk Bar & Grill Re-launch – Didsbury
Last Thursday evening I went to Didsbury. I haven’t been to Didsbury for quite a few years and whilst it’s always been a hub for bars and pubs that I frequented in my student days, I always felt it was missing a really good cocktail bar.
Enter Chalk Bar & Grill – recently refurbished and now being run by MAD Ltd, the team behind several other Manchester drinking establishments such as Rosylee, Tusk, Walrus, The Fitzgerald and Hula.
We were lucky enough to be invited along to their re-launch party so sampled some delicious cocktails, nibbles and delightful surroundings. Continue reading
