Last month I had the pleasure of attending an evening hosted by Martin Miller’s Gin. A premium British gin brand which was created back in 1999 when the man behind the gin, Martin Miller, decided he wanted a superior gin for his gin and tonic.

Another Heart To Feed is the latest addition to the West Didsbury food scene. It’s a laid back, Melbourne inspired coffee shop and brunch spot. It has recently re-located from Chapel Street in Salford and can now be found on Burton Road, West Didsbury.

I’ve had a fair share of Italian’s in my time but was more than pleasantly surprised by the suggestion of Salvi’s Cucina on John Dalton Street the other day. I genuinely felt like we had just stepped off the streets of Manchester and been transported to a secret little eaterie in Naples.

Aldi Wagyu Beef Steak – Review

I’d read a lot of articles this week about Aldi selling Wagyu beef, the most expensive steak in the world, I’m lead to believe, for the bargain price of £7.29! I only live 2 minutes away from an Aldi, and knowing that I would never be able to afford a Wagyu beef steak in a restaurant (£90 for the same size steak in upmarket places), I decided to have a go at cooking some myself.

Chalk Bar & Grill Re-launch – Didsbury

Last Thursday evening I went to Didsbury. I haven’t been to Didsbury for quite a few years and whilst it’s always been a hub for bars and pubs that I frequented in my student days, I always felt it was missing a really good cocktail bar.

Enter Chalk Bar & Grill – recently refurbished and now being run by MAD Ltd, the team behind several other Manchester drinking establishments such as Rosylee, Tusk, Walrus, The Fitzgerald and Hula.

We were lucky enough to be invited along to their re-launch party so sampled some delicious cocktails, nibbles and delightful surroundings.

Beef and Pudding 2nd Birthday Brunch Bash

Last week I had the pleasure of being invited along to Beef and Pudding‘s 2nd Birthday Brunch Bash in Manchester city centre. I’d always wanted to try Beef and Pudding since it’s launch as I used to work very close by, but had never got round to it. So when they got in touch to say they were having a Birthday brunch and celebrating the launch of their Bloody Mary buffet, it seemed like the perfect time to finally get acquainted.

After-Work Snacks: Kim By The Sea – Hulme

Kim By The Sea is a great little pit stop on my cycle home from work. Located just off Stretford Road, it’s an ideal place to take a quick rest – which is exactly what we did last week.

Double Zero – Chorlton

We all already know about my sordid love affair with pizza. One of my new favourite local joints has taken it to a whole new level. Double Zero on Barlow Moor Road in Chorlton takes things back to basics – proper tasty ingredients, freshly baked pizza bases all cooked traditionally in a flaming hot oven at the back of the restaurant. Things got emotional – dare I say it, but this might be the best pizza restaurant in Manchester.
