Early one Saturday morning in late September, me and my best buddy Mouse made our way to the beautiful Tatton Park in Cheshire with the help of the awesome Alex and Chris. We drove down from Manchester in the glorious sunshine, getting ready for Mouse to take part in the Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home 2016 Calender.
I’d submitted Mouse’s picture on Facebook, as the dogs home were asking for ex-residents to take part in the yearly calendar, which helps raise money for the dogs home. We were invited along to the shoot by the dogs home’s lovely manager Anna. The shoot went really well, it was very well organised and managed by the staff at the dogs home.
Mouse was going to be Miss December so we managed to find some tall fir trees, which would be perfect for a Christmassy look!
Here she is enjoying her goodie bag which she got after her photos had been taken.
Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home do such important work in finding forever homes for some down on their luck doggies. I’ll be forever grateful to them for bringing me and Mouse together. She’s as daft as a brush and always manages to put a smile in my face whenever I’m feeling a bit down. I truly believe that a dog is one of the best friends you’ll ever have.
So if you’re thinking of having a new buddy in your life, please check out the Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home website to see some of their latest residents.
And if you’d like to purchase one of their 2016 calenders, you can do so here.
I won’t spoil it for you, but there’s some absolutely wonderful pictures and stories in the calender this year.
To give you a little sample, here’s Mouse’s finished picture and accompanying story.
“Mouse is aptly named as when she arrived at the dogs home she barely made a sound, this caught the attention of much loved mummy Lucy who was quick to adopt her after falling in love with her lady-like ways. Mouse had been found looking for scraps of food on the streets in Bury, she was certainly very lucky to find her forever home”
A special thanks for Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home for included Mouse in the calender.
Thanks also to Tatton Park and to Bruce Gordon Photography for taking so many beautiful photos!
