Having had a restful nights sleep in our cosy cabin in the woods, we decided to take up our brilliant host Thove’s offer of hiring bicycles for the day. She gave us a real good deal and it only cost £35 each for the 1st day and £5 more for any other days we wanted to make use of the bikes.
We set off from our lodgings, not really knowing what lay ahead of us and after about 25mins riding stumbled across a vast lake called Knatterudtjern just off the main road bound for Lillestrøm.
Other than a few locals – making the best of the glorious sunshine, we had the place to ourselves. After a little swim and a dive, Chris and I ventured for a bracing cycle around the lake, which was over 60km in circumference. Needless to say we didn’t make it all the way around and just enjoyed the picturesque countryside.
Before returning for one last dip in the lake before the sun went down.
Then back to the cabin for supper, another relaxing day in our Nordic paradise!

What a gorgeous trip – and biking around makes it all the more fun. It’s the best way to explore an area, isn’t it?
