On the August bank holiday weekend a few of us went along to Levenshulme Beer Fete at The Klondyke Club, hosted by GRUB, Blackjack Brewery & Shebeen Events. We went on the Sunday, but it had been running since the Friday.
We paid in £7 on the door and were greeted by a wide range of porters, pale ales, saisons and wheat beers. There were at least 15 beers on draft at any one time and they kept being rotated, so there was always something new to try. Prices ranged from £3-£6 a pint. There was also a gin and cider bar but unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to sample those out.
There was also some delicious local food on offer from the likes of Honest Crust Pizza and Arjee Bhaji – Cat decided on the curry.
We arrived just as the live entertainment was starting – in the form of local musicians Louis Barabbas and Rachel Rimmer.
Both played amazing sets, I’d not heard of Rachel before, but will certainly keep an eye out for any future gigs from her.
What did you get up to on the August bank holiday?
